There may be some that find Adrian's post a bit uncomfortable and feel it does not have it's place here at Puppets And Stuff since it is off topic.  I actually debated if I should remove the post from public view.  I didn't because I strongly believe in free speech and try not to censure members post. Also this is posted in the Chit Chat forum which is for "off topic" threads.

I would like to ask that everyone respect each others views and opinions.  I know we have many members from different walks of life that follow different religions or no religions at all.  Please feel free to state your opinions but try not to make it personal. Try to read each others post and see the true intent behind them.

Personally I have no need in my life for church or an organized religion but believe strongly in many of the truths that are the root of the majority of them.  Actually if you read my signature is says a lot about how I feel.  We all have quite a bit in common if we are just willing to look for it.  I choose to focus on our commonalities instead of our differences.

I have gotten quite a bit of flack from people in the past because they where uncomfortable with what they felt was too much religion. If this thread begins to divide our community I well remove it.
Re: Question for puppet sellers Posted in Question for puppet sellers on Oct 10, 2010
Paypal does allow you to set up different shipping methods and can calculate things but you have to take the extra step to weigh every item and include it in your product set up.  Compared to most shopping cart systems, this is easier to do on Paypal although it still takes some time.

I convinced Billy to include the price of shipping with the cost of because he was doing specific kits that really did not change it including the price really simplifies things.  The nice thing about PayPal is that you don't have to have an account to buy through them.  You can just enter credit card info and skip signing up if you want. Too many steps give the buyer the chance to think about their purchase and thus they may end up backing out.
Re: Marionettes and miming Posted in Marionettes and miming on Oct 08, 2010
You are wanting to do something very difficult.   It might be possible but the marionette would really need to be built specifically for each task really and even then I am not sure how successful the results would be.  Since the limbs are suspended and manipulated by strings there is just too much slop in the action to get the action you want with a normal stringing I think. I know I don't have any marionettes that could accomplish the act.  To develop such multiple puppets it would take me quite some time. How much where you planning on paying for the performance?  I don't have the time to do it but if there is another puppeteer out there who might have the time, I am sure that well be one of the first questions they are going to ask you.
Re: adhesives Posted in adhesives on Oct 02, 2010
I've never tried it before, but I think they sell what is called glue dots or something like that.  I've heard others say they work pretty well.  Fabri Tac is another good glue that sets up pretty fast. You still have to hold the pieces together a bit if there is tension on the joint but it works a little faster then Tacky I think.

Actually you can also buy snaps that you can sew on if you don't want to invest in the tool.  The ones that you use the tool on are a lot like a snap rivet or grommet and is embedded in the fabric.  It is a l much cleaner version of a sew on snap.
Re: Keeping Mouth Shut? Posted in Keeping Mouth Shut? on Sep 29, 2010
Most puppets are designed so that the mouth is naturally open which means during performance you have to keep the mouth closed by "force".  Practice well strengthen your hand muscles and it well get easier.
Re: Puppet music in Polish....HELP!!!!!! Posted in Puppet music in Polish....HELP!!!!!! on Sep 27, 2010
You know whenever I heard that an entertainer or person was coming from another country, I was excited because I would get to hear their music and learn things about their culture.  I wonder if the folks in Poland are the same way?  They may be excited to hear about and see American stuff.   Just a thought.

Re: Is this a puppet? Posted in Is this a puppet? on Sep 25, 2010
Hmm... well this is going to be a hard egg to crack.

The egg is and inanimate object that is playing a role in a story that is then manipulated, so I say yes it is a puppet.
